“Dark Tourism” is tourism involving travel to places historically associated with death and tragedy.
The “Dark Tourism” seminar focuses on the tourist guides’ responsibilities when guiding dark tourism sites. The seminar uses examples to understand the different types of dark sites. Discusses the challenges involved on visits to such places. Explores the value the experience has for tourists. Studies sensitive ways to guide such places.
All qualified tourist guides are eligible to attend.
The programme consists of 4 online sessions of 2 hours each directed learning. It covers a range of development activities, essential in any guide training programme. The skills gained are transferable to many tourist guiding situations and destinations.
The training Programme trainers are FEG accredited. To achieve best possible results the number of the course participants is limited.
All trainees of the “Dark Tourism” seminar will be awarded a FEG e-certificate of attendance.
