“T-GUIDE” is a course on Guiding People with Learning Difficulties offered by FEG and the European Network for Accessible Tourism (ENAT) to qualified tourist guides.
This is the outcome of an EU funded Leonardo project, with FEG at its heart, to develop a CPD (Continuing Professional Development) course for qualified tourist guides.
The “T-Guide” course enhances your skillset and helps gain access to a rapidly increasing market for guides who can competently and sensitively work with this growing client base.
To achieve the certificate tourist guides, need to complete 4 stages:
Stage 4. Tour of T-GUIDE training in 2017 in Thessaloniki © FEG by Efi Kalampoukidou
Stages 1 and 2 need to be completed to the required standard to be eligible to join the two full days for the interactive course.
The intensive two-day course involves practicing the use of ETUL (Easy To Understand Language), improving understanding of the functional and social aspects of disabilities and of the relevant EU legislation. Guides take part in exercises on shared understanding of learning difficulties, developing access statements and accessible/inclusive tourism through universal design. Guides develop refinements to communication techniques and tour planning skills.
Once you have successfully completed all four stages and are a certified T-GUIDE your name and area of qualification will be listed and publicised on the FEG and ENAT websites.
All qualified tourist guides are eligible to attend.
Stage 3. Model Tour of T-GUIDE training in 2016 in Prague © FEG by Efi Kalampoukidou
The programme consists of 4 stages as described above, including e-learning, classroom learning and practice on tours, closely linked to the content of guide training programmes, with transferable guiding skills and knowledge. It covers a range of development activities, essential in any guide training programme. The skills gained are transferable to many tourist guiding situations.
Programme trainers are FEG accredited. To achieve best possible results the number of the course participants is limited.
All trainees of the “T-Guide” course will be awarded a FEG e-certificate of competences.
The price of this course, and all other FEG courses, varies depending on cost and demand. If you are interested in one or more courses listed on our website, please get in touch with our office for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org
